More on Hay!
Hay can be very hit and miss when you want good quality. It’s tough to tell unless you buy from a trusted supplier because you’re never going to know until you open the bale exactly what you’re getting.
Hays is usually made in June or July here in the UK, Once it’s been made, it’s stored in barns and used all through the year.
You have to remember Hay is a natural product and is not like a processed food you buy that going to be the same all the time, Hay is not like this and will vary from bale to bale, field to field and how it was made, did it have enough sun to dry it properly and so on!
Of course, the next factor is how it’s been stored, this is very important. Remember by May, the hay will be nearly twelve months old, so it’s extremely important to get all these factors right and in many cases they aren’t!
